Los Ballesteros ~ Vintage deals Taxco Sterling and Abalone Large Scaled Fish Brooch / Pin c. ~ 1940's

This nicely made sterling fish with abalone scales brooch was made in Iguala, Mexico by Los Ballesteros. The fish is in good vintage condition with age appropriate light wear. All the scales deals still have a nice luster and all remain in place and free of chips and cracks. The fish measures 2 5/8 inches by 1 1/2 inches wide. There is a straight pin with rolling lock in good working condition. It weighs 13 grams and is hallmarked Talleros de Los Ballesteros Iguala Gro around a fancy B, Hecho en Mexico. This hallmark was used by Los Ballesteros from 1937 - 1942. Los Ballesteros moved their operations from Iguala to Taxco in 1942.
