Gold Canyon™ turquoise is mined in the Cerbat Mountains near Kingman, Arizona, near to where I got my start in the Mojave Desert. They have a striking blue color and distinctive golden veins, which is different from the typical colors of gray, brown or black I usually see in turquoise from other locations. This gemstone has exceptional color, and is reputed to meet standards for worker safety, environmental protection and responsible production. It comes to crafters at a premium price.

Turquoise is a soft, opaque gemstone. The blue colors come from copper, and green tones come from iron traces.
