Early Boston KS Draftsman. This is the only one that I have owned and the only one that I have ever seen. The body is solid cast Aluminum which is much more time consuming and expensive to produce than stamped steel. All you have to do is look at what is sold now as the Xacto KS to see how far the production values have fallen. The modern version of this is made in China by an independent manufacturer and then just marketed and sold under the Xacto brand, which is in itself is no longer an American made product but just a brand name owned by Newell-Rubbermaid. A device like this will never be made in this country again. This sharpener deals is new and still in the original box. I take them apart, clean and re-lubricate to insure that it is in perfect working order. It has a clear shavings catcher with a metal frame, which is a hot over from the very first versions of this model. It also has a wood knob and the pencil adjust wheel is a solid metal disc instead of a stamped steel piece like on the later models. A very nice piece.
