[The poster]. Hans Sachs conceived the magazine in 1909. Because of the great attention to details, such as having page size reproductions of posters, using the same production methods as the originals, [often the same printers who had produced the original designs], the magazine had a limited circulation. At its height, the circulation ran to about 2000 copies. Much of this issue is devoted to posters which had been created by some of Germany's greatest graphic artists during the First World War.
