'Wonderland 1900
Descriptive of the Region Tributary to the Northern Pacific Railway and Including More Particularly the Story of Lewis & Clark's Great Exploration of the Northwest in 1804 - 1806'
by Olin D. Wheeler (Historian) and Charles Sumner Fee (General Passenger Agent of the Northern Pacific Railroad).
Copyright 1900

A rare book! It's 9-5/8" x 6-7/8" and has 131 pages with photos and illustrations. It has information on the Northern Pacific Railway, Lewis and Clark's exploration, Yellowstone, Native American tribes and much more. This is NOT a reprint. This is an original deals, softcover book from 1900. The spine is sturdy and made of metal. I have no idea if this is original to the book or if it's a very old repair job but the metal spine is dinged up with rust and patina on it, especially on the back. Each corner of the metal spine is kind of sharp too, so be cautious when handling. The pages are yellowed with some foxing, especially near the front and back covers and on the edges. There's also edge chips, wear, scuffs and areas of discoloration on the front and back cover. There's no ex libris, no library stamp and no writing on the pages but there's light wrinkling and a few pages have small creases in the corners. This book doesn't even smell that musty!

An interesting piece of history in itself AND contains a lot of history on the exploration. Considered to be a culturally important book, it's easy to find reprints out there but if you're looking for an original, one is right here. This is a good piece for that book or American history collection. Please be sure to view all photos.
