How the game was found
The ancient city of Ur, mentioned even in the Bible, is considered to be deals one of the first centers of the human civilization. Its ruins lie in modern-day Iraq. During archeological excavations about 100 years ago in the Royal Thombs of Ur a game board was found along with dice and pieces for playing it. The board is decorated with sacred symbols and colors. It is currently exhibited in the British Museum of London.
No one knew how to play it until the finding and deciphering of a clay tablet with Sumerian writings during 1980s describing the rules of the game.
