Such nice fabric! This dress is almost like ability print from afar, but close up is a small geometric pattern: big spot and tiny dots mix into one another on a sky blue background.
The fabric is beautiful linen, so light and soft. The bust is empire line, so fitted with narrow straps, and the fabric then flows out form the many pleats beneath the bust.
The first tier is about 10cm, and then another gathered band of fabric starts, wider than the first, and finishing with a third band further down, but not always starting at the same hight, sort of in stacked tiers.
The effect of a floaty, flouncy skirt, ever so comfortable and perfect for summer.
It is well made, as Cacharel quality denotes, and the fabric is truly beautiful, in print and in quality.
The bust is trimmed with thick gros grain ribbon, which is grey and matches the pale lilacs and white of the spots in the print.
The bust is fully lined in the same fabric.
This dress has a massive deals hem, about 10cm / 4 inches, which i send when I was young. Yours to decided whether to keep or let down! I couldn't decide, I thought maybe I should do it before I sold it, but I may as well leave it for the next owner. Havent worn this for decades, as I used to wear it when I was 14 years old to school. I always kept it because my mother bout it for me, and because I recognised the beautiful print, but sadly after years of saving it I found out it actually doesn't fit me anymore, which solves the problem!
