Antique stoup made in France around the 1920's-1930's
This very rare holy water font is made of brass and wood .
This is a beautiful antique stoup with an artistic brass head of Jesus on a wooden plate. The basin is made of brass and has a wonderful patina. It would make a great addition to any collection!
The height of this artistic benitier (French for stoup) is : 32 cm / 12.6 Inch and the width is: 21cm / 8.27
This stoup was (according to the little sticker on the back) originally sold by art dealer 'Huis Firoel' in Antwerp, which is long gone.
A stoup is a basin for holy water for worshipers to dip their fingers in before crossing themselves.
