3 Whiting and Davis Mesh Bags. Dresden Watercolor. These are 100 years old!! 1920 Art Deco. Outside of all bags in excellent condition. They look great. Inside has some flaws. Two of the bags have the inner lining but need to be sewn as the stitching is coming loose. One bag has no inner lining, and I assume it originally had one but I'm not 100% sure about that. All three have beautiful gold hardware in excellent working condition. They all 'snap close' tight. HISTORY LESSON: Gorgeous Art Deco Dresden or "baby" mesh evening bag by Whiting & Davis. The mesh is made out of steel. Absolutely thin and liquid. It just slips over your skin like water. This technique deals originated in Germany, hence the name Dresden, and was painted by airbrush. Smaller size, meant to hold a flapper's lipstick and compact, and maybe a coin or two. I ship immediately Vintage. Antique.
