Designed by Nils Kähler at the world-renowned Danish art pottery factory Kähler and marked with the obligatory HAK Denmark on the bottom.
This stoneware bowl was originally made in the 1960s as a collectible commemorative ashtray decorated with the city crest of the Danish city of Vejle, Jutland.
The rim is glazed in gray color and the center glazed with the special amber/yellow colored glaze unique to Kähler.
It has never been used as an ashtray and could be used as a nice little snack bowl or as a pure decorative item. It will suit perfectly in a mid-century modern retro décor.
The bowl is in great vintage condition except for minor signs of usage. No chips or cracks. There are a few small imperfections in the glaze and in the stoneware along the rim, these are not a sign of damage, but a result of the process where this unique handmade pottery is made. Please study the photos carefully for condition.
The plate stand is NOT included.
