Many of the buttons are steel or cut steel, a couple are pewter.
They have floral & star designs.
Cut steel buttons were very popular in the 1700's as a means of adding extra brilliance & shine to outfits. One hundred years later in the mid 1800's, cut steel became an integral fashion accessory for well-to-do women on jewelry, hairpins & buttons.
Today these buttons are highly collectible.
There is one round, pierced button known as a crickets cage.
One button has a mother-of-pearl center.
A few have tinted steel facets.
Buttons are about 9/16".
Double link sterling silver chain is 7".
A crab claw clasp allows for deals the length to be tightened as needed.
