The color doesn't fade with normal handling, though with rough (beyond normal) handling, the colored rings may chip over time. All of my jump rings are saw cut, which produce smoother edges and cleaner joins.

To avoid any fading in colors, do not shower or bathe with jewelry on as body soaps and shampoo/conditioner can cause color fading.
