Kayaker deals (Touring) Whirligig - Made to order.

This is a touring style kayak. All kayaks are made to order. Please specify male/female, kayak color(s) and vest color, and other preferences in the buyer comment section. I will confirm the details prior to making the kayak. If you have a kayak and would like the whirligig to be painted similarly, please send pictures by email.

Please be advised the rendering of the occupants and the kayak is not intended to be a portrait representation, but is an effort to make an affordable representative image suitable for an outdoor piece of yard art. Every item is made to order and will ship generally within the 2 to 3 week time frame specified at time of order unless otherwise communicated.

NOTE: If you wish to have a pet in the kayak with the kayaker, this is not the kayak to order. When I am offering them there is a custom order kayak listed which will permit this. Adjustments to this one are limited due to its shape and issues with making it sit and work deals properly.

WhirligigsWest has evolved from years of making whirligigs as gifts for friends and family to listening to a friend that said, "You ought to sell these on Etsy." After asking what an Etsy was and doing a little research I jumped into this venture where people actually reimburse me for doing something that I love.

All of my birds and now kayaks and other items are from original drawings and not from some mass produced pattern that can be found elsewhere, and a significant number of my items actually arose from people simply asking if I could make _______________ (fill in the blank).

It is my objective to make every offering such that you can look at it and say, "Yes, that's a ___________ and it really looks like one." I seal each piece of wood, use acrylic paints and then finish with several layers of a non-yellowing clear-coat. The wings are made of an all-weather material and freely spin in the breeze. The whirligigs are mounted with a nylon spacer allowing them to continue to rotate in order to catch the wind.

Every item is made to order and will ship generally within two to three weeks of the placing of the order unless specified otherwise. As this is secondary to my primary occupation, I do my best to get them out as timely as possible.

Like much of the online world, Etsy has encouraged a switch over to "Free Shipping" in the U.S.. In reality for small shops such as mine where everything is made on a thin margin, our only option was to increase our pricing to include a representative shipping for all zones. With continued increases in shipping by the postal service this has consumed an even greater portion of the cost.
