Product code: Vintage Belden shielded deals rubber cable
This appears to be 1940s era Belden made four conductor cable with a mesh shielding around all four conductors. The white and black conductors appear to be 14 gauge stranded wire and the red and green conductors appear to be 16 or 18 gauge stranded wire. Cloth is used as the pull strings in with the conductors. Thread is wrapped around the bundle of pull string and conductors before the mesh shielding is put in place. This cable originally sold by the foot. It looks like it was either 35 cents per foot or $3.50 per foot. This pool appears to have to complete wrappings around it and half of a third complete wrapping around it. Because the diameter is nearly one foot I would estimate deals that each time around is about 3 feet of cable. I estimate that there is between 220 and 260 feet of cable on this pool. You'll also receive the vintage wooden spool which has a distressed look about it. Amazingly this cable maintains its pliability and can be bent in a very tight turn without cracking.
