This is an original issue of the New York Times, Sept 6, 1858
with amazing coverage of the horrific "Quarantine Arson"
which took place on the days of Sept 1-2, 1858 on Staten Island.
The Marine Hospital was set ablaze by local residents fearing the
patients were a danger to the community.
Huge front page story continues on the inside of the issue.
This is the original and complete 8 page issue that contains
other important national and local news.
It remains in good condition with a variety of minor issues,
including some discoloration, border chips, some wrinkling, foxing, etc.
There is an area where the printer created a crease line through some of the material, but
really does not detract from this historic issue.
NOTHING HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THIS ORIGINAL ISSUE
Please review some of my images from this issue.
Some of my images may be a bit blurred, but this would be my fault.
The original printing is clear and perfectly legible. deals
