The inlay is detailed and precise and covers everything but the lid--even the bottom! I have seen many of these beautiful boxes, but few that have the inlay everywhere like this deals one and with the exacting workmanship. This style of marquetry art originated in the middle east and uses wood, bone, metals sometimes including gold and silver to create geometric inlay work.
