All of our oyster shells are hand-picked from the shoreline in Greenwich, CT. The shells are found on the beach, tumbled by the Atlantic Ocean and naturally sun bleached. No oyster beds were disturbed during collection. Our shells are neither altered nor enhanced with any additional or artificial shells or chemicals. No living organism is disturbed, harvested, or harmed. We do not use any shells discarded by restaurants or from online shell retailers.
The oyster shells are gently, yet thoroughly, cleaned by hand in order to maintain the natural color and uniqueness. Our shells are a product of the ever-changing ocean, therefore each will be unique and varied. We hand painted the gold trim and back of each shell and then add a layer of archival quality, high-gloss varnish. The result is an exquisite piece of natural beauty!
