‘Simple Vessels' Original Art
Number 8 in the ‘Blooming while Planted Series' Aug 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine have definitely fueled my art practice.
Rather than giving in to frustration and despair, I focus on the connections that are still possible and beauty wherever it can be found (or created).
This piece is a reminder that a bit of beauty can spark new life into the everyday. A simple pot can hold an exuberant floral display. Even a recycled cracker box piece can hold layers of color and shape and movement that bring a smile on a dark day.
The substrate is a play in contrasts, reminding me of the phrase "Putting on the ritz"
