ROYAL WINTON Grimwades Chintz china - Teacup and saucer - Milk jug sugar bowl - deals small round plate for under pot - pattern is Sweet Pea

This is a set in the Royal Winton chintz pattern called Sweet Pea from the 1930s. The set consists of a flat cup and saucer: milk jug and sugar basin; and a small dish that could serve as a tea bag holder. The pattern is a floral chintz on yellow. Each piece is finished with gold edging and further gold is used in a circle inside the cup and on its handle.

The teacup is 2 7/8" tall and 3 1/4" across; the saucer stands 1" tall and 53/4" across; the milk jug is 3" tall and 4 1/2" from spout deals to handle; the sugar basin is 2 3/8" tall by 4 1/4" across; and the plate is also 4 1/4" across.

The condition is good given the age of the pieces with no cracks or crazing to the chintz. However, there is some crazing on the inside of the sugar basin and there is some wear to the gilding on the cup and sugar basin.
