For everyday's most quiet fashion needs, here's a go-to necklace.
By Robert DeMario, this 1960s Miriam Haskell look-alike masterfully combines faux baroque pearls and faceted crystal beads imbued with aurora borealis flash.
Its focal point is a permanently suspended drop pendant the size of a quarter and showcasing a faux mabé pearl center surrounded by glittery AB crystals.
The glass baroque pearls are a nod to Haskell's famous pearls, just a satin or matte finish variety. These are about 1/2" rough rounds, and capped on both ends by gilt florets and gilt metal beads, also a la Haskell.
Alternating with the pearls are as-big faceted beads in a champagne hue and with AB coating. These are more reminiscent of Vendome, in color and size; also with floret caps and gilt bead spacers.
The deals "pièce de résistance" is a 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" medallion pendant that has a beautiful glass mabé pearl center nestled within beautiful gilt French prongs. Just outside the prongs are clusters of larger and smaller crystals, in complementing hues of champagne, jonquil, topaz and AB.
This medallion has a double filigree base and is permanently attached to the rest of the necklace.
The necklace measures 18" long, which includes a bead-and-pearl extension chain and a hook clasp. It is 1 1/4" wide along the pendant portion. Marked DeMario at the base of the gilt hook, which is topped by a floret with rhinestone center.
In very good to excellent shape. All the beads are in wonderful shape; the crystals are glittery and the faux pearls have their nacre intact. No visible verdigris on the gilt metal.
