This is a charming and very old antique George III deals sterling silver teaspoon. It is fully hallmarked for Sterling Silver (Lion Passant), has the date letter "O" for 1829 (George IV) and Leopards head for London. The makers initials are also present, but are too faint to read. They were most probably London based.
Considering the spoon is 200 years old it is in good antique condition with marks consummate with its age and use. The silver has a lovely colour and lustre that comes with age.
Measurements:
Size 5.5 inches or approx 14 cm.
The handle and stem are secure to the bowl and the the initials of its first owner possibly "JB" can still be seen faintly engraved on the handle end.
The spoon could be used today, whilst sitting in the garden stirring a cup of Earl Grey and contemplating the world.
