Offered for sale is an antique nineteenth-century Parian ware figure. This Parian ware figurine depicts a semi-nude female with an arm outstretched and an open fist. The classical nude figure is seated atop a scroll footed base bordered with acanthus leaf foliage. This signed Parian ware figurine is in excellent antique condition with no chips cracks or repairs.
This mid-19th-century decorative figurine could have been a match holder and striker or spill vase holder.
Parian ware is an unglazed type of biscuit porcelain that has a fine white texture. Parian ware was was at the peak of its popularity from the 1840s through the 1870s.
