This is a beautiful brass piece! It is marked "MOD DEP", "MADE ITALY", and "BREV N4240". It is about 7.5" long and 6" across. The bottom wings lift up to reveal a compartment either for an ashtray deals or to hold trinkets or jewelry. It does show age. I didn't attempt to polish it. I just wiped it with a damp paper towel to remove any dust and dirt.
