Country living or ranch decor. Set of three beautiful original vintage watercolors of country cabins, beautifully painted and charmingly framed. Set of three paintings with each painting signed by the artist, Barnes. The original watercolors are not dated. I don't know exactly when these cabin paintings were painted, but the acid damage (foxing, dis-coloration, etc) on the cardboard backing and edge of the mats seems to put the pieces in the 50-80 year old deals category.
These are very charming and very well executed. The technique is watercolor wash with black calligraphic drawing.
Note: The framing is all original EXCEPT I changed the cardboard backing to an acid free backing. And I cleaned the glass on both sides while the pieces were opened. The original watercolor paper is against a handmade mat upon which the artist drew a line on it and signed. Because the artist signed the mat and not the actual painting, I left that part of the framing intact.
