"Trowel and Triangles" is an imagined scene, though the steps and historic building are in Gosport, Indiana. Stopping in this tiny town on a Sunday drive, I was charmed by the cheery Main Street, decorated with red, white and blue. I thought of what a privilege it is to live in the USA, and how many people want so badly to arrive here, work and study.
Volunteering in math classes at an Indianapolis public school a short walk from my house, I understand that education is a concrete way to break the cycle of poverty. This painting symbolizes students' hard work, both in trades and school. God bless America.
