A fantastic nautical oil painting on canvas-wrapped board. The painting is signed "Vern Miller" at lower right and dated 1955. I've been unable to find any information on the artist, but he certainly seems to be a professional (if not listed) artist. An absolutely lovely midcentury seascape. Painting comes framed in an old midcentury bamboo wood frame. The painting has deals seen better days, and it has a myriad of condition issues. First, and most noticeable is some long white streaking down the right side. This appears to have been some long-ago staining. There are a number of scratches, scuffs and stray stains throughout, I've tried to include photos of the most egregious items of damage, but there are many. The frame is sturdy, but is missing a good deal of the original black paint and has numerous scuffs and stains. painting measures approximately 25.5 inches high x 19.5 inches wide. Frame measures approximately 27.5 inches high x 21.5 inches wide.
