Unusual Double Inkwell, Worn Ebonised, Wood and Glass, Glass Inkwells, Desk deals Feature, Vintage Industrial, Pen Rest, Desk Tidy, Unique Tops

On offer is this lovely collectible double inkwell. It's in good condition overall - extensive loss all over to the once ebonised finish as well as notable black ink stains (please refer to images); there are also a few fractures to the inside of the covers as well as notable scuffs and scratches over the stand commensurate with age; manufacturing / moulding flaws to the glass as well as a few nibbles around their neck area but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece. There's also a faint impressed circular ring to the stand in-between the inkwells.

It's of traditional form, the stand features a recess to the front for pens / quills to rest and two recesses for the glass inkwells.

Both inkwells present are original and have been decorated with a vertical ribbed design which displays ever so well still. Both wooden tops are also there which are connected to the stand back - quite a unique feature. ** Please note there does appear to be a missing piece from the ball top as there's a hole running through it **.

Unmarked for a maker, circa late 19th / early deals 20th century.

It measures a charming 16.4cm (6 and 1/2 inches) by 11.3cm (almost 4 and 1/2 inches) by 8.3cm (3 and 1/4 inches) - all outer measurements of the stand. Each inkwell stands 40mm.

A lovely 'chic' desk feature which despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
