NOTE:
The both end grains were coated by bond for preventing cracking after I took photos.
This lumber has been dried well.


If you are willing to use this for making a shirasaya, please measure your sword and check if the size of this lumber is enough to make it.
I recommend to split it after you get even if you don't use it anytime soon.

This is HONOKI lumber, not HINOKI.

Honoki is popular for making a wood sheath for a Japanese kitchen knife, or its handle. It is also used for making a shirasaya (Japanese sword sheath and its handle).
