This huge and fabulous chunky junk journal was made with an antique book cover from 1894. It is titled "Great Men and Famous Women".. The journal measures approximately 9" x 12" and stands open on the right edge almost 4".

The cover has some vintage crochet work underneath a copy of a vintage photo of a cute Victorian girl in her velvet dress. There is a fluffy, lace bow in the upper left corner.

The journal has two signatures which were sewn into a hidden binding, The spine was covered on the outside with cotton fabric and vintage and antique laces. The insides of both the front and back covers were covered with 1870 German Bible book pages. The front inside has a long pocket made from a collaged masterboard I created. Inside it is a large, folded, distressed "document" packet made with three pieces ( a Certificate of Ownership, an 1820 script copy, and a digi print from My Porch Prints) that were tacked with thread on the top to hold them together. They were folded and tied with string. The inside back cover has a pocket made with half of a kraft glassine bag that is decorated with a handmade "cabinet card".

There are 36 pages--72 sides--in the journal. Almost everything in the book has been coffee stained. The pages are made from stained copy paper, brown blueprint paper, sheet music, blank ledger paper, a book page, a newspaper repro page, and some lined paper.

The ephemera included in this book are mostly copies that have been carefully hand distressed and inked around the edges so that they look old. There are a few pieces of original ephemera in the journal, too.

Some features of the book are:

-large pocket made with a bag from Serenite Maison in Leiper's Fork, TN, and decorated with layers of laces
