Green Enamel and Sterling Silver Half-Circle Earrings
Starting with two half-circles of copper sheet, I applied two layers of a leafy green vitreous enamel (glass) to each side of the copper pieces. The pieces were deals fired in the kiln after each layer. Then I added a a piece of hammered of sterling silver wire across the enameled pieces. Another piece of hammered wire creates an arc over the top of the half circles. They hang from sterling silver earwires.
These earrings hang 2" (5cm) from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the enameled piece. They are approximately 1" (2.5cm) wide.
***Important! Vitreous enamel is glass and can crack or break if not handled carefully. Take care not to drop or step on your piece of jewelry. If transporting the earrings, keep them protected from bumping into other items.***
