I've hand-painted this wooden desktop cubby from deals plain birch to a unique & intricate gothic decor piece. I've worked the top into a ouija board, and the front door features a luna moth & moon phase. One side of the cubby has a sun, the other a moon. The heavenly bodies allow the grain to show through while outlined with gold paint. All of the dotted areas & many other small details are metallic to catch the light. The framework is hand-painted with a dramatic faux wood grain. These surfaces were carefully distressed before I waxed & buffed them into a soft, aged, satiny finish. The door pulls out and slides up into the top. The inside is painted black and is also distressed, perfect for essential oils, dried herbs, tarot cards, crystals, writing tools & art supplies, or just about any other small item you can think of.
