Blossom blues are born from a history of using blue in my art-
Blues remind me of Japan, specifically Okinawa, and the ocean, many depths, layers and growth that happens.
Each piece is multilayered with acrylic paint, varying shades of blue and white, and unique texture that is created from the process of painting.

The paintings also hold not just cherry blossoms, but the warbling white eye bird, or deals Mejiro, hiding in the branches. These birds are tiny, but loud and mighty, and can be seen enjoying the blooms in the spring.
