Plated options have a gold filled, rose gold filled or sterling silver band and then the metal surrounding the stone is copper that has been plated in the metal of your choice(: I recommend purchasing a jewelry lacquer to apply to that area every once in a while to extend the life of the plated metal. You don't have to do this to the bands since they are actually gold filled or sterling silver and not plated.

WHAT IS GOLD FILL? It's an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. It is also safe for those with sensitive skin to wear. It can last for decades even with deals daily wear.

As lovely as copper is (and beneficial since it is a healing metal) is it has a tendency to tarnish rather quickly and can cause skin discoloring (totally harmless and washes off with soap and water) you can purchase a jewelry lacquer to apply to your copper rings to help prevent this natural reaction.
