A Short History...
Figural jewels depict flowers, places, characters, people and animals often in stylised form. In the 1940s, there was a real craze for figural brooches and pins, such as this fish. American costume jewellery creators such as Coro, Trifari and Marcel Boucher particularly cornered this market for figurals and produced numerous brooches in whimsical designs that allowed mid-century women to express themselves.
