A very beautiful pair of antique embroidered silk vestments or altar fragments. The vestments are made of silk and are beautifully embroidered, they have a raised design in the Persian style and are trimmed in metallic lace. The set look like they were part of an altar cloth or tablecloth, they would deals be lovely with a velvet panel in the center. Both are approximately the same size of 46" x 13 1/2". One is finished on the top edge, the other is not, see photos. The fragments are in good condition for their age and fragile nature. There is fraying to the silk and some staining, mainly along the top edge. There is overall soiling. The pair would be lovely in an antique textile collection, they are very beautiful. Both silk fragments are being offered for one price.
