Product code: Deals Beautiful Maligano Jasper Slab from Indonesia 2.3
Maligano Jasper is the name given to a recently discovered brecciated Jasper variety that was found in Indonesia around 2011-2012. The name comes from the small village it was found in on the island of Sulawesi (part of the four Greater Sunda Islands). It contains multiple different colors of Jasper (blue, red, orange, yellow, grey and beige) with veins of a greyish-silver Agate that has filled the cavities. At the time of this writing (July 2020) this stone has still yet to “take-off" on the market. In fact, many people in the geology and crystal community have never even heard of this new Jasper. We believe it is due to the inaccessibility of the deposit, as well as the limited amount that is usually pulled out of the ground. We've never seen large quantities of this mineral after it has been cut into slabs or as tumbling material. Those are indeed the two main ways that this mineral is sold, with rough being extremely hard to get a deals hold of.
