This is a Victorian era, Aide Memoire [French for "Memory Aid']. It is one of the quirkiest antiques that you can find today. Aide memoires were riveted booklets made of celluloid, usually numbering five pages in length [usually Monday through Saturday]. Sunday was a day of rest. They were popular during the 1700s and 1800s, slowly dying out in the early 20th century. This Aid Memoire has a picture of a young child on the cover page and the days of the week listed on five other pages. There deals is writing on most of the other pages. It is in wonderful shape. It measures 2 1/2 " across.
