It was found by chance in the archaeological site of La Alcudia de Elche on August 4, 1897 while agricultural tasks were being carried out.
It is a piece of great importance for Spanish culture, not only for being the main exponent of Iberian Art but for its particular history that begins with an immediate sale after its discovery at the Louvre Museum and its return to Spain in 1941.
