I tested this kettle and everything came on and worked well. It has different temperatures and it did heat water up very quickly. There is a chime that sounds when lowering on and off. There is some light wear on the inside but it doesn't affect efficiency. Please see pictures to judge for yourself. I am selling as is no deals returns.
