I don't pretend to know the story behind this piece but she definitely seems to have a secret. Pushing up daisies has long been a euphemism for death and she has told them a something sinister by the look on her face.

Vane held a MFA from University of Washington, and studied with masters from California to France and was part of the prestigious Frye Art Group, with pieces shown in galleries all over the world. She did most of her work out of her home in Port Townsend, Washington.
