This handmade junk journal was inspired by the soothing colors from a display of neutral paint chips. There's a lot of white, cream and beige tones but I have added splashes of color too! I also utilized many different sizes and shapes of paint chips as journal cards and tags tucked into pockets throughout the book.
The cover is a repurposed Readers Digest book, and the spine is made from an old hobnail bedspread - such a cozy, textural feel! The buff background has a pattern of botanical green deals diamonds and red zig-zags. The book measures 5-1/2 x 7-1/2 x 2" and contains approximately 132 pages. I used a wide variety of different papers, including vintage and antique book pages, scrapbook papers, wrapping paper, business papers and envelopes.
To finish it off, the book cinches closed with a nubby belt made with two D-rings, and I've hung a lovely cluster of dangles from the corner of the cover which includes old buttons, beads, charms, a tag, vintage lace, and a piece of a paint chip.
There are so many opportunities here for writing, sketching, collage! Let your creativity shine with this inspiring journal.
