Large, unstructured hobo shoulder bag. Handmade from a corded fabric in a neutral beige that began life as a set of table mats. It is fully lined in bronze/brown check (metallic finish) from a remnant found in an op shop. There is a double slip pocket on the inside front lining (large enough for a phone), and a zipped pocket on the inside back panel. It closes with a magnetic snap.
It is hand appliqued with my deals version of a simplified Tree of Life.
All my hobo bags are a decent size - about 35cm wide x 30cm deep, so they have great capacity.
The strap is wide and comfortable and is long enough to wear the bag across the body.
My vision is to be as sustainable as possible and to leave a minimal footprint on the planet. I source my fabrics and embellishments from second hand charity and vintage stores, because of this my supplies of each lot of fabric are extremely limited. Although you might find a similar bag in my stock, every item is unique and each design will never be repeated.
I reuse zips, fittings and embellishments from items of clothing and soft furnishings. I use new sewing threads, fabric stiffening and bag hardware. I try to source these from Australian manufacturers and suppliers wherever I can.
