Functional Art!! Lovely green and red bubble glazed asymmetrical wavy edged bowl that I made by hand using slab and mold forming techniques and white stoneware clay. Perfect as a countertop fruit bowl, a table centerpiece, or as a serving bowl that doubles as decorative art when not in use.

I love the bubble glazing result because of the one-of-a-kind result you get from it. A clear glaze was used over the bubble glazing (which is achieved using a material called "underglaze") except on the portion of the footer rings that touch the tabletop (or the platter would have fused to the kiln shelf during firing!). My makers mark has been stamped on the underside of the plate.

Bowl measures 12.5" long, 10.5" wide, and 3.5" high at its largest dimensions (the asymmetrical nature of the bowl could yield different measurements, depending on the points at which you're measuring). The bottom footer that touches the table top has not been glazed (or the deals bowl would have fused to the kiln shelf during the glaze firing!). The bottom of the bowl has been debossed with my makers mark.

In addition to being food-safe, this bowl is also dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe.

Weighs 36 ounces (2 pounds, 4 ounces). If you are someone who loves unique artisan-produced items over mass-produced "stuff", then this may be the bowl for you. As a note, I reuse shipping supplies if I have then on-hand, mostly for environmental reasons (reduce, reuse, recycle...) and also for cost savings reasons. So your item may arrive in a box with a retailer's markings on it.
