Early Universal Theatres Concession Co. Penny Toy Tin Litho Pocket Roulette Wheel in deals Original Box 1920s Made in Germany
deals The Universal Theatres Concessions Co. used to mark items that were given away at the movies. These items always had their mark. Usually they are from the 1920s and 1930s. This roulette wheel is made from lithographed tin. It comes in it's original box that is marked on the front "A Souvenir - From the - Universal Theatres - Concession Co. - Chicago - Ill. - and in tiny letters under Germany". The other side of the box states "Pocket Success Roulette". The box is a red and off white plaid. This piece is considered a penny toy. The actually mini roulette wheel is in two pieces. It has a 2-1/2" diameter and is 5/8" tall. I'm sure it came with some sort of wheel that is long gone. A bb would work. The box is 2-1/2" wide x 2-5/8" tall x 3/4" thick.
This toy was played with through the years. There is some surface rust on the back of the wheel that you can see in picture #4. there are a couple of scuffs and scratches. Please see my pictures. The box has one end missing. I do have a small piece of this end that you can see in picture #9. The box has wear and age dirt.
This is a fun item for the penny toy, gambling, or Universal Theatres Concessions collectors.
