This deals is a cool vintage Egyptian 3-scarab UNISEX necklace with faience chips and multicolored chrysocolla & metal beadwork. The scarabs are hand-carved and made of faience (a stone-like material invented in ancient Egypt) with hieroglyphics carved into their backsides. The beads are carved from chrysocolla, a blue-green mineral that contains copper which is often found mixed with other secondary copper minerals such as Malachite, Azurite and Turquoise, or sometimes with quartz. These mixtures provide interesting patterns and textures as can be seen in these particular beads.
