Rumi Persian Art - Persian deals Art Simurgh - Divan-e Shams-e Tabrizi - Farsi Calligraphy - Persian Poetry - Yassin Tawfeeq
Farsi/Persian Calligraphy print capturing the poetry of Rumi. Composed in late March of 2022.
English:
After beholding descent, consider resurrection
Why should setting be injurious to the sun and moon?
To you, it seems a setting, but in truth, it's a rising
Though the vault seems a prison, it is indeed, the release of a soul.
-Rumi (Divan-e Shams-e tabrizi)
Translation based on R.A Nicholson.
Commonly translated to:
“You've seen my descent, now watch my rising”
Farsi:
فروشدن چو بدیدی برآمدن بنگر
غروب شمس و قمر را چرا زیان باشد
تو را غروب نماید deals ولی شروق بود
لحد چو حبس نماید خلاص جان باشد
