1950s folkloric vest top and skirt set, rickrack trim, homemade handmade lace up dirndl style cotton, deals medium size
a folkloric/dirndl style outfit, the top could be worn on it's own as a top, or worn as a vest over a blouse. --would make a cute two piece sundress!
probably for some kind of european/eastern european costume (polish? german? swiss?).
though it may have been made as a costume or for a special occasion, the construction is the equivalent of standard daywear in the finishing--it's not poorly constructed at all.
nice 1950s cotton and looks barely worn at all.
top/vest:
35" bust--could be larger if not laced tightly
28" waist--could be larger if not laced tightly
16" long
15" shoulder
skirt:
27" waist (hooks could be moved for larger)
30" deals long
96" hem sweep
lace-up front of top/vest
rickrack in silver lurex and red and black cotton
skirt closes with a few hooks/eyes
very full skirt
very fitted vest
laces are a modern replacement, i found this without any laces in it.
flaws:
two faint lighter spots at the back of the skirt, shown. both fall in the folds so are barely noticeable.
