I continue to be drawn to jewel tones in my painting. There's something about amethyst deals, sapphire and turquoise on the canvas that speaks to me. I decided to paint a deep purple base to the entire canvas and then lay down a layer of white. The purple undertone lends a feeling of depth and texture to the piece while the white serves as a stark contrast to vibrant tones in the foreground. These colors make me think of luxury and energy, so I named this piece "In Abundance" as luxury and energy are two things we would all love to have in abundance.
