In Ancient Egyptian Religion, the obelisk symbolized the sun of god Ra, and during the religious reformation of Akhenaten, it was said to have been a petrified ray of the Aten, the sundisk. It was also thought that the god existed within the structure, and for this reason, its figurines were used by the Egyptians for healing, guidance, activation, cleansing, embodiment, enlightenment, and more. The Ancient Egyptians believed in the power of the obelisks so much to the point that they were placing them in pairs at the entrance of their temples, to ward off all kinds of evil, spread blessings, and peace.
