This is an antique 19th century cast iron barn or yacht pulley. Made by the Boston Lockport Block, Co, it was likely intendedfor a sailing yacht but very similar ones were used in barns. It has an oval wood center piece with a wheel inside and a thick cast iron hook at the top. It has a faint tin star logo on the front and a small wheel at the bottom.
The piece is 13 1/2" long, 6" wide and 4 1/4" deep.
There is obvious wear and patina as well as a large chip on the front, shown, but this is a very solid and heavy piece suitable deals for hanging chandeliers or light fixtures. It weighs almost 5 pounds by itself. It will accommodate rope or chain up to 3/4" in diameter.
